    Default ZC installation issues.

    I am trying to install ZenCart 2.01 and I am getting a 404 error - Page not found.

    This is the path i am using https://www.MYSITE.com/A/zc_install/index.php

    The Php version is 8.1

    Can anyone tell me if i am doing anything wrong here?

    Thank you

    My htaccess file says this

    <IfModule mime_module>
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php80 .php .php8 .phtml
    </IfModule>

    Did you configure your domain properly?
    Usually there is a standard page when creating a new destination folder e.g. "This is a standard page. There's no real content here yet" or similar.
    Just to make sure that's running.

    Normally you don't need to care of the htaccess before installation.
    Did you try to mv it to htaccess_bak?

    The domain name already has a version of Zencart running on it and is configured and working well.

    What i am trying to do is to set up a new version of zencart in a sub flder 'A' for testing etc.

    I think the issue may be with the Htaccess file...

    Is there any reason why you don't use a subdomain for this?

    If your current shop is using an older PHP, using a folder would prevent you from using a newer PHP. Tests are better done in the sub domain.

    Instructions for creating with cPanel are available at https://myzencarthost.com/index.php?...th-cPanel.html

    My main site is www.XYZ.com and the new zencart installation is meant to be here --> www.XYZ.com/A/

    I am trying to install the new zencart installation in the A sub folder.

    Thanks

    Again, if your main site (public_html) is using something less than 8.0 PHP and your host has not set your account to where you can select PHP thru your .htaccess, zc_install will not work and will tell you that you must have 8.0 or higher to run.

    The best way to do what you are wanting is with a sub-domain. Especially if you are using cPanel or an equivalent.

    https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/installing/subfolder/ and follow the Multiple PHP Versions link for general instructions.

    Specific instructions can be found at https://myzencarthost.com/index.php?...th-cPanel.html
