Upgraded from 1.5

upgrading from 1.5 something to 2.10
At this point I had thought had done everything I needed to but the database has not connected with the new website, non of the history on the site is there, and
changing the template which resulted in the blank page. I have uploaded the 5 folders from the old site code stitch

I have doubled checked the override files I have created in my previous website, there is 6 files I needed to transfer over to the new site, I am assumiong this is the cause of the blank page for the site.

Assuming this is all the files that needed transferred, then I am thinking that the problem is in that the override files where composed in a lower version of PHP. Hopefully this is not the case as then I would have to start over and create another template.

which version of 1.5 is important.
What was you original sites template based on? responsive classic?
what version of PHP are you set on now?

old version is 1.5.7
My original site was adjustments that i spent hours on making it special, color of background, where the sidebars are what is in each location. manufacturers, top images.
it was all contained in the stitch template for my personalization as indicated above in the override file I installed from the old site.
At this point, I would assume that all files have been installed as needed.
PHP version is from 5.6 to PHP 8.0.30

Unfortunately, the error logs are exactly what you need to be looking at because they always tell you what's wrong. It's pretty much like having sat nav in your car, driving around a big city you don't know trying to find a specific small street, and you're wondering why you keep getting lost and can't find the street, but you refuse to turn the sat nav on and you hope you might just stumble upon the street you're looking for...

Each of these logs usually point you to the exact file and exact line where the error is. Sometimes it's basically a flashing red arrow to the culprit, and sometimes it's a clue which will need a bit of knowledge to figure out, but it's not rocket science.

And most importantly, if you copy/paste the contents of these logs here in the forums, you will most likely get a simple answer on what you need to do. Don't forget to click the hashtag icon (wrap CODE tags...) before you paste here - this will make the text easier for us to read.

The only alternative you leave those who want to help you is to take out our magic crystal balls and summon the answers... Sorry, mine is out for repairs, needed polishing...

This likely is the problem - won't work with PHP 8.
