HS Code Mod?

Currently running 1.5.7.c but will be upgrading soon.

Is there a mod to add HS codes to zen cart products?
New rules for selling into EU come into effect on July 1st and in order to continue to use ZC for EU customers I need to be able to add duty to orders based on the product HS code.
I am planning to start shipping DDP into EU to simplify matters as the new rules complicate the current system with collecting VAT on orders below 150euros. It will be much easier to collect VAT on all consumer orders regardless of value and collect the duties applicable at the same time.

I was hoping there might be an all encompassing mod that would handle this, what with the recent issues with US removing the deminimus threshold and adding new tariffs etc, but after a search it seems the only one suggested tends to be CEON Advanced Shipper, which doesn't have great support.

International commerce seems to be getting more complex - I think this is an area that should definitely be on the devs radar.

As always, you can always do anything, depends on how much effort/cash you are prepared to invest.

Subsequently, adding duty per product and per country....you need a new field per country?
You are adding a surcharge per product....does that have local tax on it?

Enough to make your head spin/give up on exporting!

AShipper can add surcharges, and maybe could be extended to encompass what is needed. This requires custom coding, not support.
I always advise people to buy Ashipper anyway, nothing beats it and since I use it, I + others do maintain it in a private repo.
