Wordpress On ZC [Support Thread]

If you don't want ANY of the blog content or links in your store, then you don't need this mod at all.. this mod is not a c"community builder" the WP and ZC users are not synchronized at all.. All this mod does is allow you to display WP content within Zen Cart.

I definitely want a link to the WordPress community within Zen Cart & vice versa. I just don't want the blog content of WP to show in the main page of ZenCart. There is a WP plugin that syncs users, but WOZ has to be installed.

Yes,install zencart,then wordpress,add wordpress mod to zencart...
use sideboxes included in mod to direct visitors to WP..
OR use WordPress as standalone and use zencart ezpages
to link to it..

Then you might want to give following the instructions I posted a shot.. This way you can use the WOZ sideboxes only..

Can you point in the direction of the WP plugin that syncs the users??

Hi guys
I use hostmonster's webhosting and i use the control panel to install Wordpress, and the system automatically setup another database that is different from the one i use. I am not sure whether this affect the result , i still have the error : can not find the wp-config.php, i installed it under /blog and ABS is set up to "http://mysite.com/blog/" is this correct? i use v2.7 WP and 1.3.8a zencart

Did you follow ALL the steps for installing this add-on?? Did you verify that WordPress is installed correctly?? (your post would indicate that the answer to this is no..)

If your issue is with the WordPress install you need to correct that issue first.. (and you may need to go to the WordPress forum or your host to get that all worked out..) Then follow the directions for installing this add-on and see how that works out....

Yes, the blog is working and you can access it through http://bagreplica4u.com/blog. I installed it first and it is in the directory of http://bagreplica4u.com/blog . then i installed the module , but i am not sure whether the abspath is set up as 'http://bagreplica4u.com/blog/' and i am not sure how to verify the integration is sucessful nor not.

ok first a dumb question before i attempt to read through all of the fixes, install and configure woz...
is the main reason for installing a blog inside zc to improve seo? if so, for those that have installed it and have it working, has it noticeably improved your se rankings???

That is a really good question because seo is probably the reason that many people install the blog inside zc. Zen Cart has been great for search engines with me, and I had read so much about how great blogs are because the content is being updated regularly (theoretically) and the search engines just love fresh keyword rich content.

So, overall I'm not sure that it necessarily improves anything on the seo unless it improves your ability to place content on your webpage (I find it a little easier to work with the wordpress admin then the zc admin).

It can be a quite a time investment if you want heavey customization of the look.
