The Canada Post Shipping module is available here:

I recently installed the module and I got it to work very well. However I noticed that when you purchase two items it calculates the shipping for both items separately and then adds the number together to come to the total shipping cost.

Example:

Book 1 is 9" x 6" x 1" and weighs 1 lb. It would ship for approx $7 lets say
Book 2 is also 9x6x1 and weighs 1 lb. It would ship for $7 also
Total shipping cost is $14

HOWEVER, if you put both books into 1 box and ship as 1 package that is 9x6x2 inches and weighs 2 lbs, then shipping would be $10 lets say.

How can you configure it to calculate everything as 1 order that would ship in 1 box?

What does the option "Ship Item in it's original box" do?

That's the option that causes it to assume each item will be shipped in its own separate box, thus adding the sizes together instead of attempting to fit them into the box sizes you've previously defined within your CP profile on the CP website.
