    Speed & Performance..

Carryin this on from what is now the Archive...

    http://www.speedtoys.biz

Bout 20,000 items in the catalog.

Things were "ok" at 15,000, but the latest update has busted things slightly.

The Catalog in the Admin tool no longer loads, stops at 30 seconds...

Here is my server info as well (at bottom of post)

Turning off category counts helped enough that the store worked at 15k items.

I think ive created about as many relevant indexes in Mysql that I can do to speed it up.

The server load is rarely high enough to sweat this quad-cpu system, and I never catch it deep in swap..usually some RAM left free on the box.

    ..now what?

    [Edit]

This new forum has a limit where I cant enter the server info text..too large. Might wanna change that folks..so people can post the support data.

    MY Server info is at:

Why not post your server info URL from zc_install/techsupp.php file ?

Simply upload that file to your Zen Cart's root path and post the URL. This will much more facilitate support for you. ;)

this is going to sound like a bit of a cop out, but 1.3.1 release is hugely focused on optimising code to use as few sql queries as possible, however you are going to have to wait for that.

There was a post a couple of months ago, with some code tweaks that reduced the query count a bit. I'll try and find it and post the link
