How modify subcategories

I want add the number of items of every category in product info page. Where it can be done?

Can you be more specific? Categories and Products are administered in Admin>Catalog>Categories/Products.

Also look at Admin>Configuration>My Store
- Show Category Counts (set true/false depending on your needs)

I like to keep this turned off. It can be distracting and can also increases page load times.

I want exactly this option, but not for the categories sidebox.
Just for the subcategories showed on main page when you click over a category containing one or more subcategories.

I bet there is no way to make it in the admin panel and that some code must be modified. I want to know what php file need to be modified.

Even it was not what you were asking for , it help me a lot the answer, in fact I was looking just to turn off the counter in the sidebox categories.

So I´ll repeat in case somebody is looking for the same answer.

Admin--->Configuration--->MyStore--->Show Category Counts--Here is where you turn it off /on.
