Go to includes/configure.php and right click on it. Select properties and change it back to 444.

You could also do this in your CPanel using th file manager.

You can use 644 or 444 depending on your server ...

Also, depending on your server, you may or may not be allowed 444 via FTP and it has to be done through your Control Panel as your host may not have given you rights to your site via FTP ...

I'm having the same problem with a new install... set the permissions to 644 (I can't set 444 on this host) for the configure.php file but still getting the warning message at the top of the screen.

Anything else I need to check?

    Thanks

Use cPanel if you have it. The File Manager will allow you to set the right permissions. Can't help if your webhosting doesn't have cPanel..

I'm having the same problem at www.artielbooks.com/shop/.

I have re-set the permissions to 644 and am confident that that worked, but I'm still getting the error message at the top of my site.

I have just upgraded to v1.3.0.1.

    Thanks.

Some sites will need to be set to 444 instead of 644 ...

Note: some servers will not allow this to be done via FTP and you will need to use your Control Panel for this ...

I set both 644 and 444 via ftp, verified via cpanel, still get that ugly warning. I am one step from calling in another brand of cart.
