Sorry to ressurect an old thread but I have been searching the forums for help, being a polite little poster, and cannot find much info on this.

Is it possible to duplicate the "Categories" sidebox?

I want to have multiple category boxes such as

Shop by Style (box header)
...cat 1
.....cat 2

etc

Shop by Color (box header)
...cat 1
...cat 2

Do you just need 2 or are your trying for more than that?

What is the criteria for what category goes in which categories sidebox?

Ok actually I would like 3 category boxes....

Maybe this way is possible:

1) creating all the categories I need so they show up in the category box in the sort order that would work

2) add additional headers or graphics to separate them out (not sure this is possible)

or a different option would be to use the blank side box mod and create my 3 category lists myself via links and not use the category side box at all. I could use my category box formatting for these boxes (??)

But, I would really like to do this

is there a benefit to the flyout menu? That would work too but if there is no benefit to using that way with regards to SEO (which I know little about these days) why use it?

let me add that I do know I can just create categories and subcategories to get everything to display but I would like section headers to separate them.

I am horrible at explaining my grandios ideas aren't I?

Bummer ... there is a work around when there is just 2 using the Document sidebox for one set of Categories and the Categories sidebox for the other set ...

But to have 3 you would need to do quite a bit of customization ...

wow! thanks. I wonder why that didn't come up in my search?

I am going to try that and see how that works out.

That will be an easier fix than doing all the customization to start with.
