question about zencart can some one help?

I have zencart set up and I wanted to find out if I was ablt to set up zencart so that people can come to it and list there items for sale kind of like craigs list. If zencart can't do does any one know of a program that can do it.

Not in its current form, but it would be possible to write mods and extra functions to do this. However, I suspect that you would find that simple though this idea sounds the implementation would be much more complex than you might think.

For example, would anybody be adding items to your database or would you want to create a level of user between Admin and customer? How do you prevent fraudsters or spammers from loading inappropriate or non-existent products? How do you calculate shipping from multiple places? Who collects payment for goods sold - the poster, or you? Do you collect commission on good sold? How do you deal with disputes between seller and purchaser that have passed through your system?

These are just a few random thoughts about functions that you would need to define and build. And I'm sure that there would be many more. So, yes, Zen Cart is well suited to this type of customization, but it would be a very big job.
