language support

I am looking to have english and spanish for clickable languages for the customer to shop in.. how do i go about doing that? is it possible? and when placing orders from both.. will they aggregate to the same database?

any help appreciated.

Hello Kee,

of course you can. And there is always only one Database storing your data.
Go to ADMIN > LOCALIZATION > LANGUAGES and insert a new language.

1. Make sure that the Lang pack is up to date with your version.
2. Make sure to upload all files for the Admin as well, if they are not available in your new language, just rename the english pack to your new language and upload it to the ADMIN > INCLUDES > LANGUAGES

Thanks Pivey, that was really helpful, and I got it installed, but I have 2 more questions.

I looked, but couldn't find the answer.. so..

1.) How can I have the language selectable by the user when they are on the page. I am able to default the extra language pack, and it would work, but I need it to have the selectable languages when the user is logged in..

2.) The page is in the language (spanish), but the items and descriptions are all still english.. how can I get the product items and descriptions to correlate when they change the language?

any help is very much appreciated.

Sorry forget about my 2nd question, I jumped the gun on asking that one.. I saw how to change it exactly where it should be.. in the the product item editor.. doh!..

However I'm still trying to figure it out how to have an area for the customer to change the language.. or am i just missing it somewhere??
