red flag No shipping for selective categories

    I'm using 1.5.5e

Just wondering if there's any such thing as a module or some code I can use to stop shipping being applied at all for a selection of categories that don't require shipping. I know I could use Free shipping but I just want some products to bypass the shipping page or say something else.

I'm aware also I could clone a Free shipping module - potentially I could do this and put a different message for these products.

Just need some advice as these are digital web hosting products and don't require shipping.

You can set a product as virtual.

In your admin edit the product and set the "Product is Virtual" option to "Yes, Skip Shipping Address". This is found right below the tax selection

There's also an "Always Free Shipping" configuration switch for each product.

I forgot about the virtual option, can't say i have had to use it in the past so not sure what appears when you go through to the shipping page. does it just bypass it altogether?

Free shipping would display 'Free Shipping' i think on the shipping page. I was thinking of adjusting this module for this purpose and displaying something like 'Your hosting account will now be created, please allow us time to contact you by email' or whatever, BUT there are other products that aren't hosting related that will also require no shipping as they are for services - basically time/hours. So for these products I need to display a different message.

And then there are other products that do require standard shipping by table rate. Thats easy as i plan to just use table rate clones.

Also I am aware that i could use WHMCS or some other platform, but I want to keep it all on zen cart as it makes it nice and easy.
