    Default ftp

forgive me i am new to all this , all i have ever used to build sites before is that easy to use but cheesy yahoo web builder.

anyways i have been reading the FAQ's and doing my best to help myself but a lot of the answers i am getting is "FTP something to my site" . I learned this means file transfer protocol.

I have an acount/site with sashbox and they preloaded zen cart on it for me.

Can anyone help me with my noob question , How do i FTP something to my site ?

You need an FTP application - Filezilla is free I believe.

ok so before i saw that i found a few things that helped me .

Found my server IP and port in the original email i got from sashbox,

i had some crappy FTP explorer that didn't work so i got the filezilla http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/ which ofcoarse worked right away and showed me all my files.

I have no idea what PHP files are but I googled "PHP file editor SourceForge" and found dev php 2. http://devphp.sourceforge.net/ . Change the settings in filezilla : Edit --> Settings-->Interface Settings--> File viewing and Editing and then put C:\Program Files\Dev-php2\devphp.exe in the small window.

After that i was set can could change the text on the PHP files to get rid of the "sales message goes here and congratulations deal. now i need to learn how to change the color of the test from that lame grey : )

This certainly is not as easy as setting up a yahoo website with paypal buttons but its going to work a billion times better when i get it all figured out.

Big thank you to everyone who made this available.

If you take a few minutes to red through the FAQ's you will be amazed at how much easier the process is. Pay close attention to using template overrides for your editing, how to use multiple images for each product and security issues for thecart.

    Good luck.
