Default Question on the IPN for PAYPAL

If I do not include the IPN URL for PAYPAL, can my customers still buy via my website?

Without the IPN URL, it just means that after PAYPAL payment, the customer will not return to my site but will end off at PAYPAL, right?

Without the IPN URL, the order will not appear in the Admin Sales Report?

Thanks in advance for the answers

    Andrew

PayPal IPN is just the fact that it will post your payments received from your website onto one webpage. Under "Customers" and then "PayPal IPN". Your website redirect has to be set up through PayPal. Even if you do not have PayPal IPN set up, you can still redirect the customer back to your website. It's under Website Preferences I think. I would set that up, because otherwise it does not look that great on you, besides, you may have customers that forgot something, and it would be more convenient for them to be redirected to your site, and buy more!!

Why would you want to run PayPal with your Zen Cart checkout and not use the PayPal IPN that is built in to Zen Cart to make PayPal run correctly as a Payment module?

Did you read his question? He simply asked if it was possible, also if you read the response, I advised against it.

We like to know why folks want to use the modules in ways they are not designed for. It helps us to make decisions for futue directions.

This is correct. That way you aren't limited to only using Zen Cart to send payment requests through your paypal account.
