Resetting Product ID's

Hi,

I apologize in advance for this post because I read the solution months ago, but I can't find it anymore!!!

I need to reset my product id's. I have them sorted and they display like I want in the product listing page, however, when you're viewing the product info page the 'first' product is listed as 'product 2 of 8'.

When I look at the product ID's in the admin, product #1 has a product ID of 5 and product #2 has an ID of 4.

Is there an easy way to reset the list so product #1 is actually listed as '1 of 8'?

Sorry, I'm tired and I'm making this sound more complicated than it is...

Thanks for the link, but won't that actually clear my products? I don't want to lose anything, I just want to re-order things?

Ok, so I backed up my DB (just in case!) and reset my Products Master Categories ID, unfortunately, the products ID's weren't reset.

Is there anything else I should try?

On the Previous/Next ... the display is based on how many Products will be shown as you click along on Previous/Next ...

Depending on which Product within the group to be displayed you may see:

1/15
12/15
3/15

This can change with the multiple ways of entering the listing ...

The Product you go to is not always going to be 1st in the List of Products ... often times it will be something else ...

Hi all,

I found my solution! It was listed under admin -> configuration -> product info -> previous next - sort oder. I set that to '6' (product sort order) and it now displays the products properly.

Well, proper for me anyways, since I set the individual product sort order in the admin.
