I am having this same issue on IIS 5. It will create customer accounts, but will not allow them to log in. I also have been unable to edit the text in the html_includes, etc via the admin interface. I've had to manually edit the php files.
I set the use_pconnect to true in the configure.php and erased all references to https locations, stopped and restarted the web service, and the issue went away.
odd solution ...
The pconnect is set to not work regardless of the setting at this time ...
Perhaps it was something else that the restart was able to fix for you ...

Now that I think about it, I may have enabled a PHP extension at the suggestion of the setup, but I may not have restarted it until then. I think it was:
extension=php_curl.dll
I don't know if this would affect this issue or not.
That might effect modules that require curl ... but login isn't one of them ...![]()

I've tried basically everything listed here, and still no luck. Here are a few clues, maybe this will help out:
- If I set the https to blank (''), the user stays logged in. However, when he goes to check out, it just loops at Step 1. It never goes to step 2.
- If I set the Admin-Sessions->Recreate Session to false, and have the https named correctly, the user stays logged in. Again, though, thy can't check out.
I have not updated the software yet, but am working on doing that later today.
In the meantime, any ideas?

What kind of server are you on? What version of php and mysql are installed?
Running Fedora 5. I think MySQL 5.0.18 and php is 2.8.0.2. That php thing may be wrong, though.Originally Posted by Kim
