Quantity Discounts

Hello All,

I have setup quantity discounts as follows:

min quantity of 50, 100, 250 and 500 And I setup my minimum quantity and maximum quantity to match this. But when I view the product I see 5 discounts and the first one states "50-49 0.00" and everything else seems ok.

Here is the example:

What am I doing wrong???

Also another thing I forgot to mention is that there is no pricce associated with the product. How can display the lowest quantity product discount as the product price (or as low as $)?

I got this installed and also recieved 5 levels but a bit different than what you are getting.

Settings:
Product - price was entered as $5.00

Price Manager - Discount Type = amount off(you can adjust if your base price is different)

discount1 = 0.40
Discount2 = 0.60
Discount3 = 0.75
Discount4 = 0.95

I set Qty min/Unit mix to 'no' which forces buying in blocks of 50 you may or may not want this

The extra block must be part of the hard code & maybe Ajeh or another coder can provide info.

Now my next questions is how can I display the lowest quantity discount price as the product price (for example it should display "as low as")

You would need a function to look that info up from the products_discount_quantity table ...

Yes ... you would need to make a function ... which is writting php ... to pull up the information you wish to display ...

I havent explored writing functions in PHP but I am up for it.....:)

Is there any help that can be found on how to do it?

I gotta say this is the BEST shopping cart in the world!! Initially I had a lot of trouble but once you get a hang of it I think it is SWEET!

I have found a work around to display the lowest price first:

In Price Control Manager:

Product Price: 40.00
Min 25, Units 25

In quantity pricing table: Click on "Actual Price"

25 100.00
50 75.00
75 50.00
100 40.00

What will display is a bit funky but works:

The online display will look like this:

25-24/ 25-49/ 50-74/ 75-99/ 100+
40.00/ 100.00/ 75.00/ 50.00/ 40.00

Now the beauty of this is that even though you have that kludgy first colum showing the 100+ price, when the buyer puts in 25 - the shopping cart calculates it correctly at $100.00 ea. Being that you have your minimum set, buyer won't be able to buy less than 25 anyway.

I can live with it - what I can't live with is my buyers seeing the highest price first.

I wrote some PHP stuff now I get Object id #36 on the product info page....

Here is what I wrote in functions_prices:

function zen_get_products_lowest_price($products_id) {
global $db;

$lowest_price = $db->Execute("select discount_price from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DISCOUNT_QUANTITY . " where products_id = '" . (int)$products_id . "'" . " and discount_id = '4'");
return $lowest_price;
}

And in tpl_product_info_display:

echo $one_time . ((zen_has_product_attributes_values((int)$_GET['products_id']) and $flag_show_product_info_starting_at == 1) ? TEXT_BASE_PRICE : '') . zen_get_products_lowest_price((int)$_GET['products_id']);

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Couple of things ...

The lowest price cannot be gathered in this manner as this product has 5
[PHP]$lowest_price = $db->Execute("select discount_price from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DISCOUNT_QUANTITY . " where products_id = '" . (int)$products_id . "'" . " and discount_id = '4'");
return $lowest_price;[/PHP]

The discount_id can be anything ... you are assuming it is 4 this will not always be the case ...

Also, you have an array for $lowest_price ... you need to return the actual price from that array and that is a calculation based on the kind of discount Percentage, Off, Amount ...

You need a function to select all of the discounts for the product ... then calculate the results ... then return just the lowest calculated price and not the array from the select statement ...

Look at the functions that are used to determin the discount display ...

More or less you are doing the same things but without the output and backward on the results ...

You could store the results to an array, then sort based on the calculated price and return the lowest calculated price that way ...

Did you happen to peek at the function zen_get_products_discount_price_qty ...

Example: toss this in as an echo on your tpl_product_info_default.php

[PHP]echo 'CHEAPEST ' . zen_get_products_discount_price_qty((int)$_GET['products_id'],10000) . '<br>';
[/PHP]

Add a little tweak here and there and that should produce what you are looking for ... :smile:
