Shutting Off Whats New Sidebox On Product Info Page

just a quick question. i want to shut the whats new sidebox off just on the product info page. I'm just not sure how to do it. i found a couple of threads explaining how but they were vague and i just didn't understand them.

i know how to shut off columns in tpl_main_page im just not sure on this one.

i assume i need to make changes to one of these files

tpl_product_info_display.php
or
whats_new.php

i just don't know where or what changes to make.

if anyone can clue me in i would be very grateful

Don't change files, as most all your needs are controlled in the admin. For the sideboxes it is in the admin > tools > layout boxes controller.

Check your admin first, as most all functions are covered there.

You could make it that when the products_id is defined that the sidebox does not show ...

Look at how the specials.php sidebox is setup to not show on the product _info page ...

Follow the same idea ...
