Default A Couple of Customization Questions

    Hi There!

My Site is www.scrapmommies.com/store and I needed a little tiny bit of help customizing the main page.

First how do I get rid of that box and "sales message goes here" on my banner? I tried looking through all of the forms but couldn't find it.

Second, how do I add links to the search bar above the store banner?

And Last, how to I change the color of all the bars from orange?

    Thanks!

One tool that is very helpful is in the Admin ... Tools ... Developer's Tool Kit ...

Bottom input box type in: sales message goes here

Select the Catalog ... Click Search ...

It will show you the filename(s) and line number(s) where this is referenced ...

The copper bars are part of the stylesheet that you are using ...

You might wish to consider building your site from template_default vs Classic ... and as you are not that far along, consider upgrading to Zen Cart v1.3.0.1 ...

    Thanks, talk about quick service!

I actually wanted to ad links on the bar above the logo so I could link to other pages on my site, how do I do that?

    Thanks again!

As you are just starting out, you should consider Ajeh's excellent advice of upgrading to the latest version of ZenCart.

What ever you decide, your site loads slowly....your thumbnail images are in the range of 250KB and there are several that load with the main site page.

The small thumbnails can be adjusted to a size of 2-5 KB and at the small image size not suffer much in the way of image sharpness. Reducing the thumbnails size will significantly improve the loading response of your site.

Search this site for several guides and threads about image handling.
