Logo question

Hi, I have read old posts and the FAQ first but I must be missing something. I want to put my logo in the place of the ZC one.

I used the ZC admin.

I went to includes/templates/my_template/images.logo.gif ( I put in the new folders my_template and images and my logo.gif).

What do I have to do to then make that the logo on the main page? Do I delete the ZC logo? I thought it would look for mine first but it is not coming up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try adding your new logo.gif into images folder of your new template

It is in there sorry my first thread line was not right.

do you have my_template turned on in admin

sorry I am very new to this and I don't know what "turned on in admin" means. Do I have to do something to the folder?

To login in to your admin add /admin to the url for your shop. Then go to Tools > Template Selection > and select your template name.

If you cannot find you template you should read up on 'overrides' since you likely have missed a step or two. Search for overrides in the FAQ and/or the Wiki.

I have spent some time reading past posts and tutes etc on overrrides and i am still confused. However is it correct that to override the file needs to be in a classic dir?? Or am I just way off here??? So should my_template/images/logo.gif be in the classic dir NOT staight off the english dir???

includes/templates/my_template/images/logo.gif is how it is now

should it be

includes/templates/classic/my_template/images.logo.gif ????

I did check my admin/Tools and my_template is not there.

You don't put your files *in* the classic directory, but you do make a my_template directory *next to* every classic directory. They should be neighbors, since they both hold files that override template_default files (classic will be inactive while your template is active). Look at the way the files and folders under classic are set up for guidance on setting up yours.
