Why do carts, sites, whichever and zencart continue to support the imperial measuring system?

FACT: TWO (2) Countries on this entire planet Earth Use Imperial. US & Jamaica!

Wouldn't it be logical in every sense to use only metric for any and everything until the US catches up with the rest of the world? (if ever)

I.E.. Effectively 3.8 billion + people need to default to US (whatever population) measuring when using most software.

I thought there was a Brit on the major development team?

Until whichever day, if any the entire planet needs to convert the US measuring system (which the rest of the planet coped quite well with) and the US version of what they like to somehow call English spelling? More like phoenetics to the rest of the world.

Not a bash on US, but a logical solution to LIFE.

The Brit on the development team has explained elsewhere that the units are purely cosmetic, and can be easily changed. The system has to default to something but since a majority of the devs are in the US it may some sense to go with what they are familar with. Even if it defaulted to metric, which would be more convenient for me personally, we'd probably be having a discussion about wjether grams or kilos were more appropriate!

Grams and kilos are more appropriate. US is a minority who refuse to accept the majority, nor possibly could they understand the concept. It's really pathetic to be honest, not this software but the poor lack of ability of an entire coutry not to be able to be able to cope with simple change. Hell even Mexicans can handle it.

I don't know what you are in a snit about - but, the weight is simply a unit with a label, it is easily changed in your language files.

I'm assuming you're British - after all, you're here moaning but haven't done anything to fix the problem...

Luckily Kev Polley has already fixed this for you - simply load his brilliant Mod "UK Template" to solve all your US to UK problems.

This mod also helps with VAT issues, adds local zones for you and has the added bonus of a logo with the Union Jack on - you'll feel right at home!
