    Java Script problem..

    Hi,

I'm currently new to zen cart, but i'm trying to create a full new layout..
how it supposed to look like: http://www.reaper-radio.com/1152x864.php (do not mind the big size, this will eventually show up in a popup window)

Now if you look at the menu, you will notice it uses a javascript "pop menu"

    The script code on page:
    Code:
    <script language="JavaScript" valign="top" vqptag="doc_level_settings" is_vqp_html=1 vqp_datafile0="new_menu4.js" vqp_uid0=347178>cdd__codebase = "../";cdd__codebase347178 = "../";</script>
    <script language="JavaScript" vqptag="datafile" src="' . $template->get_template_dir('.js',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'jscript') . '/' . $value . '"></script><script vqptag="placement" vqp_menuid="347178" language="JavaScript">create_menu(347178)</script>
Now this is just how the script works..
but this doesn't work at a page intergraded with zen cart,
look at www.reaper-radio.com/1024x768.php there is no popup menu and also no error..
it just doesn't work for some reason.. i looked at this forum, and found a lot of questions about it.. but even reading all that just spins my mind,

Can anyone please give me a detailed discription on what to do?

    Regards,
    Marco

I looked at both pages and the drop down is functioning in netscape.

Did you fix it in the interim??

well I do not know what you mean with interim, so i probably didn't fix that..

If i look at it in internet explorer 7.2 (beta) it doesn't work at 1024x768.. and it does in 1152x864...
It may be a Browser support issue here.. but still as you can understand.. the "general public" is still using internet explorer.. and i do know it has something to do with zen cart, because everything worked before..

but what's interim? and how do i fix it? and do you think that it will fix this issue?

    With kind regards,
    Marco

The interim I was referring to is the time from when you posted 23 May 10:04 A.M.
    And the time I looked & replied May 23 5:13 P.M.

As the drop down you are having trouble with is not part of the ZenCart code it is difficult to assist you in why it functions differently in various browers and versions.

I looked at it in IE ver 6.0.2900.180 and it worked at 1152 and did not at 1024 which is where I think you have inserted ZenCart.

I am not a coder and you appear to be more of one than I, How you have doe this is a mystery to me.

I have used another method for drop downs that is a cross-browser-compatible method and does not require JS and you might like to try it if you like find it here: Non JS Dropdowns
