Deleting Gift FAQ, Newsletter and Congratulations message

I have looked all over the forums and administration panel for the answers to these questions:

How do I get rid of the option to subscribe to a newsletter?

How do I delete the Gift Certificate FAQ link?

How do I delete the message on the home page that says, "Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution."?

How do I get rid of the option to subscribe to a newsletter?

Admin > Configuration > Customer Details > Show Newsletter Checkbox

How do I delete the Gift Certificate FAQ link?

If you're not using gift certificates, go to Admin > Modules > Order Total > Gift Certificates and click the Remove button - that will automatically turn off the FAQ link.

How do I delete the message on the home page that says, "Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution."?

Make an override copy of includes/languages/english/index.php and edit the two define statements for the constant 'HEADING_TITLE' near the bottom

I was able to delete the Gift Certificate FAQ and the congrats message alright, but after I unchecked the newsletter box, the link is still there on the home page. How do I get rid of it?

removing the unsubscribe link is a different switch from actually removing the checkbox on the create account page.

Admin > Configuration > Email Options > Display "Newsletter Unsubscribe" Link?
