support for attribute inventory levels

I am just looking for the best way to enable my customers to reach 'their' products as effortless as possible.
Figured out that the best way so far is to just add the specific sizes to the product description and not use atributes at all. But that kind of floods the customers with repeating products. And it seems such a waist not to use the attributes since this gives a professional impression, especially when it becomes possible to use stock by attributes. That really rocks but still leaves the question of searchable attributes unanswered.

In the meantime I'm open to suggestions regarding incorporating attributes in the search. If you know a way of doing this I would really love to hear it.
