Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

What help file? As far as I'm aware, the only instructions are the ones in the first post of this thread and the ones on the download page.

This module is to make it easier for you to add/delete attributes in admin. Nothing whatsoever to do with the customer side of things.

The help file was from Verison 1.0. And what i post earlier is from that help file. The help file has been removed since then. But I read that help file to say you can automatic change what shows up in the 2nd download list from what is selected on the first, but obvious I was wrong.

Guess I was looking for longer instructions that just that and I passed over this info.

It is good practice to leave a copy of the original on the server in case something goes wrong. Note that you are overwriting a core file here which will be overwritten by a future ZC update, so I would recommend that you also leave a copy of the modded file, suitably renamed, on the server so you know what to replace after an upgrade.

I remember the exact same thing!!! and it used to work. I am digging like mad now for the old copies of Zen files I have stashed. I really hope I have the old files somewhere. I thought I was totally remembering a different module!!! I knew that was somewhere, I remembered people talking about that feature that had shops that sold "customer designed" products like homemade candles that you could pick the type and scent etc.

Look at the NAME of the mod - Improved Attributes CONTROLLER - all this ever did was make it much easier and quicker to set up attributes in admin. It did not - never, ever, ever - allow attribute dependent attributes!!!

Ryk is absolutely correct. This mod was only ever a clever but relatively simple replacement for the default attributes controller that made it quicker to set up attributes, not allow them to be set up with previously non-existent structures.

OK, let me see if I understand you right. I should have THREE files on my server; one the original zen cart file (renamed), one of the new Improved Attributes Controller file (this is the one doing the work), and another one of the Improved Attributes Controller (renamed).

Two renamed files (copies):
File one: attributes_controller_zen_original.php
File two: attributes_controller_modified_file.php

Is this right?
