    Default CSS issues in 1.3

Just when I thought I was beginning to get the hang of custom templates. :). Trying to do so in a new 1.3 cart. Created override directories, copied over files. But NOTHING seems to change how the template looks. So it seems it is still looking at a default template, not my new one. YES to changing template in template selection, YES to resetting sideboxes. One thing that seems weird... in template selection, it shows my template name as "mystore", but the template directory as classic. What am I missing?
    Thanks much!

Sounds like you haven't got the overrides quite right. On the template selection page, the folder name comes from a search of folders available under includes/templates/ and the name of the template comes from the template_info.php file in that folder. So it would appear from the information you are seeing that you have the classic folder, and the template_info.php file in that folder has been modified to show mystore as the template name. Maybe you got the edit of that file mixed up, and the template_info.php in your mystore folder is showing the Classic name?
What folder name shows on the template select page if you select the Classic template?

Thanks for quick reply! I believe I got the folder issue fixed. What is confusing me is that now, instead of just stylesheet.css, we have 'new' and 'original'. I'm trying to modify per the instructions in the Zen Template for Beginners Book, and of course that was pre-1.3. Just which file(s) am I supposed to be modifying?
    Thanks much!

Just my recommendation for a "new' 1.3.x cart...

In your includes/templates/classic folder...delete all files located here, leaving the classic folder only now it is empty.

Be sure that you have copied only template_default items to your_template folder and only the ones that you need to change/edit.

You are now well prepared to embark upon the magic of Zen without any interference from the previous version.

    Re: CSS issues in 1.3

I'm really having problemns here guys.

Originally had 1.2+ installed locally and on a web sever for a site that I'm trying to get oiff the ground [still have my original back ups from a working 1.2+ site].

Now i want to upgrade, but am having real trouble

At first I thought my templates was screwed and I'd need to redesign, whihc wasnt much of a problem

I cant get the simplest of templates to function properly in any kind of install, be it an upgrade, [local or server] or from a new [local or srver].When I change from the deafault, the differences ARE MENTAL!!

I've tried copying the entire template_default, and making the bear essentials needed for a new template.

This is killing me cos i really need ezpages, and my orgiginal template is great.

    Local:
    ZenCart version 1.3.0.2
    Apache version : Apache/1.3.33 (Win32)
    PHP version : 5.0.4
    MySQL version : 4.1.10a-nt - extension : mysqli

I'm up that creek with that paddle guys and i need help..

I used the Green v1.3+ compatible template [see downlaods>templates>pg 2], as the css was cloest to waht iw as trying to achieve.

The I just took the includes/template/MY_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_box_default_left [ + right ] and copied over the images asscoaited with them..

now i have a header, footer, and index listing question...but it'll be a new post.
