Contact email not working

the contact page only sends a text email to the admin address and no email to the customer.

all of the other emails are working just fine.

"email_template_contact_us.html" - isn't that the email that gets automatically sent to the customer when they use the contact_us.php?

does anyone know what the problem may be?

I may be misunderstanding your post but the contact us form is for the customer to contact the store so if it is only sending an email to the admin then isn't it doing what it's supposed to do???

that is also what i am wondering. and if that is the case then
what is email_template_contact_us.html used for?

you see, i am in the middle of customizing all of the emails. they are html right, but i cannot seem to figure out when the email_template_contact_us.html is used because i have not seen it in action.

i assumed that it is an auto responder for the conact page. when someone uses a contact_us page, on most websites they have auto email sent to them saying: thank you for conacting the bla bla, thanks, bla.

you see what i'm saying now? what do you think?

The file you are talking about is used for sending the request to the store owner. As any other email template file they are only used if HTML emails are turned on in the admin - otherwise plain text email are being used on default!

A confirm message is not sent to the customer on default, but it could be achieved if you like with only a few code changes.

Hope that helped you to understand what the email templates are for. You can configure them to look similar to your store layout....

i would like to have a confirmation email sent to the customer, do have the code to make that possible?

if not, no biggie, i can live without that feature.
