OSC database: what's 'OSC'?

Pardon my newbie ignorance, but what's an 'OSC database', as referred to in the FAQ?
My searches have yeilded nothing definitive so far.
But, after looking @ wikipedia, I'm guessing it means 'osCommerce', yes?
