speed up loading

Hello,
I installed Zen Cart, and it loads up somewhat slowly on the server.
I am hosted with Dream Host, and all of my other sites run blazing quick.

but, zen cart takes about 20 seconds to load.

i googled around a bit, and there are people offering services like $150/hr to "speed up zencart".

surely, with a package this large and popular, someone should know how to speed it up without charging an arm & leg.

Can someone please help me? What can I do to speed it up? oh, its the default installation, with only the demo products so far.

Are all of your other sites dynamically generated? You might want to search the forum for dreamhost- seems I have seen complaints of slowness from many others on their hosting.

How about an URL ... we can tell you if it is your shop or your hosting site based on what we see ...

Often times pictures speak louder than 20 questions ...

There are a could of posts complaining about slowness on dreamhost...I my self am a former customer of dreamhost and switched hosts because I was experiencing the same problem as you..now I have the same exact site loading in a flash.

I did try to contact dreamhost about this problem and they where not helpfull in any way.

Zen runs slow on Dreamhost.
I just had a client switch to a different host and had great speed improvement.
