need help, barely know where to start...

    Hey there,

I have an account on a server that uses vdeck. I installed zencart and had it configured and running.

Now, I was in vdeck and went into preferences to change the site passwords. I clicked all of the options to change the passwords in...one of which was the "default mysql user", and then reset the password.

Now, at this point the store stopped working completely. I cant even get to the admin page. The store link gives me a message
    "Sorry!
There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."

and the admin page gives the error

    0 DB_ERROR_NOT_CONNECTED
    in:
    [select * from project_version WHERE project_version_key = 'Zen-Cart Database' ]

    How do I fix this???

As you may have guessed, I'm pretty new at all of this.

    Thanks

This is where one calls one's hosting site and tells them the nice story of how ...

I wasn't really runnin' ... just looked like I was runnin' 'cause my feet were moving really, really fast ... but I wasn't runnin' ... cause you said "Never run in the house ..."

IF your hosting site does not know how to reset the master password for your site/database ... you are in trouble ...

IF you only reset the password on your specific Zen Cart database ... (and they should of been able to help you with this too) ... then you can go into MySQL in CPanel and remove the username from the database ... delete the username ... recreate the username and password ...

If you know your database name ...

If you know your username ...

If you know your password ...

Get a copy of the /includes/configure.php from your server and edit it with a good TEXT editor ... and fix the database issues at the bottom of the file that may have changed from your setting changes that you said you made ...

You will also need to edit the file:
    /admin/includes/configure.php
