    Setting up prices for product

Some of the products I sell must show a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP price) that the customer must see until they add it to the cart at which time they see the actual selling price. Can this be accomplished?

I'm looking for something similar to "call for price" but there is no need to contact me, just add to cart to see price.

    Thanks for any help.

YES, exactly what can be accomplished with pricing by attributes.

You set the MAP price for the product when you enter it. Check off priced by attributes also.

Your discount in dollars or % can be applied & depending on how you set this up it will either add the discounted price to the cart or indicate the MAP cost and the discount as a separate value that is subtracted.

Ideally I would have something under the price or in place of the price that would indicate it is a MAP price. An image that said "Add to Cart for Price" or "Click Here For Price".

Using attributes do I have to setup an new attribute for every item or is the $$ to discount variable with each item.

While what you want here could probably be custom coded, you could just make it part of the last sentence in the product description.

Assuming that the 'class' of the attribute is the same, you can apply the variable uniquely to each product or copy to another product or one could also setup 'dummy' products with the correct attributes for certian types and apply them to new products to save key strokes.

I have written a contribution for MAP pricing. It's not the best in the world but it does what it needs to. Instead of the price you'll see, "Priced so low, we're not able to advertise it. Add to cart for price."

I've submitted for the contributions list, but it takes a couple of days to get accepted, so I've made it available on my website here:

Shoot me email if it helps.
