Catalog images directory is not writeable

i have zencart installed and was working fine, then today i try to add more pruduct but can not get the product image to show, i get this message. Error Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: I must have done or switched or clicked on ?

The file permissions (chmod) need to be 777 (read, write, execute) Use your FTP client or your control panel to change the permissions.

and can not find chmod. By the way i like the grey, i have two macaws. Thanks for the help.

ok i found it . i ftp images right clicked and changed to 777. now everything working again. thank you.
