Default Using Zen modules with non Zen site?

I am launching a very simple store with just a couple of down loadable items, a newsletter and an affilliate program. Zen cart looked like the solution (it's self installing at my web host) but I'm thinking I will have to make far to many changes to the existing templates. Is it possible to plug some of the Zen cart modules (downloads, payments...) into an already created site?

Anything is possible. Practical? not really- would be less work to move your existing information into Zen Cart.

I had a (more or less) related question and that wasn't the answer I wanted to hear...

I don't really want to move modules from zen into another application. Rather, I'd like to attach an application to the zen-store. Slightly more detail:

After adding appropriate links to the zen-store (that take the user to a gallery), I'd like the user to be able to add items (order prints for example) to the zen-shopingcart and continue browsing through the gallery.

Any thoughts on whether this is practical? Does the API support such an interface?

To add every image in the galleries to the zen inventory would be impossible as there are thousands of images in the galleries (not to mention the presentation issues).

    thanks in advance

This post talks about a 3rd-party application that allows gallery contents to be included in a Zen Cart system.

Thanks for the pointer Doc. The Gallery product isn't the answer for me either. I don't need community type of application or an uploader. The gallery apps I build are more flexible in the presentation and allow for large scale updates.

I guess what I'm looking for is merely communication mechanism between my galleries and the zen-commerce stuff (ie, shopping cart, payment facilities, order tracking, etc).

At first it seemed fairly simple since all the images would behave (as products) in the same way: order prints, specify sizes, quantities and maybe matte/glossy.

    thanks again Doc
