different prices based on quantity

i am setting up a drug store and need to be able to have different prices for different packaging of the same product. ie a product can be sold for $30 for a pack of 20, $55 for a pack of 40, $75 for 60.

what is the best way to do this? (to have different prices for the same product)

Assuming you have Zencart installed; setup a test product and check the priced by attributes button. Then;

Look in your admin > price manager > select the product & display > edit > select add blank discounts

Here you can set the quantity discounts that you want.

i tried your suggestion but it is not what I am trying to do. its not a matter of discounting the price based on quantity but rather a matter of package pricing. a box of 100 pills has one price (and maybe different packaging) and a box of 200 has a different price. however they contain the same pill so i just need one product page but need to differentiate the price based on package/presentation.

also a pill might come in pills of 100mg, 200 mg, etc and their price varies but only need one product page with different prices...i need a way to have multiple prices for same product...

Set the basic product up and price it by attributes. Then set up the attributes as the size/volume combination.

Example:

Product Aspirin

() 80mg/ 100 tablets $2.00

() 80mg/ 500 tablets $8.00

() 100mg/ 250 caplets $5.00



I would use radio buttons so the user can only choose one at a time and all options are displayed at the same time.

that is what i need (to display different packages with different prices) but i dont know how to do it. could u be more specific(step-by-step) on how i can price by attributes as u say?
