Default Different Paypal for Different Products..?

I have checked the FAQ and tried searching the forums.. A few things came rather close but I don't feel they're what I mean.

What I want is, say I sold item X and item Y in the same site - but item X is made by person A and item Y by person B.

If a customer buys item X i want the payment to go 90% into person A's paypal account, and the remaining 10% to go into my own.

Did that make sense? It's the best way I can think of to explain it. I feel I must be missing something, that this must have been done before - sorry if this is a repeat. Anyway, I'd be very glad for an answer or some help in setting this up, or even just a big fat link to something that already does this!

Nope ... not an option with Zen Cart ...

You can have a zillion Zen Cart sites with the same PayPal account but we do not have this designed for button button who's got the button PayPal based on Product ...

So I'll need to set this up myself.

I guess I'll try to make it some sort of.. Payment handler that takes a purchase and sends the 90% on to the other person's account...

...Thanks for the help, I'm off to dive into PHP!

Well I was going to edit, but the button seems to have disappeared...

I just thought - if I go around editing the core files to make this, won't all my changes be wiped if I upgrade? How can I combat this if it is so?

well, I can tell you that to modify the paypal IPN files is going to be a PITA.

    and well lets see
    someone buys product a + b + c
so you want to send 90% of a to paypal a
    90% of b to paypal b
    90% of c to paypal c

and the final 10% of each product to paypal account d.
now you do realize that you will have to synch ALL 4 of these accounts to use the current IPN..
and HOPE that all 4 ( example for this order )
paypal accounts transmit the IPN back correctly and that they all come back in about the same time.

see what the issue here is going to be...

Best to just collect all the funds and divy em up manually once a month.

you have reports to see what has sold so you will know how muuch will need to go to each person.....

this will get even easier if adam ever finishes his quick books module...

That's exactly what -i- was happy to do.

But my mother is overbearing (even though I'm old enough to be a mother myself) and insists I should do it all automatically..

problem is neither zen cart nor paypal is designed to do this.

and all its going to do is give a monster headache to you and both machines to even think about something like this....

Put foot down and meekly say Mom this aint gonna work..

LOL thats what I do... My Moms like that

No, no... The only way to work around mother (as if I try saying 'it is too difficult' she will make a messy, easily hacked thing for me *shudders*) is to -pretend- that I've done it.

Thank god I don't live with the woman!
