Need Coupon help

Is there a way to make a coupon that will only apply to a single item...I'm a newbie and can't seem to be able to figure out how to do it.

You set the restrictions to be:
Category Top Deny
Product wanted ALLOW

Then test it ...

After you make the coupon there will be a restrictions button showing on the right panel ...

If you select the coupon and click that you will see a place to set restrictions on Categories and Products ...

First, set the Category restriction to Top Deny ...

Then, select the Category that the Product is in and select the Product and set to Allow ...

especially those related to master_categories_id for things like SaleMaker, Coupons etc. as these fixes can help too in many situations particularly on sites with Linked Products ...
