    Default help: Changing zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset" folder name

    Hi! I successfully installed Zen cart for my boss.

    I want to change this folder's name:
    http://thefamilytreee.ca/Catalog/zen...eset/index.php

    The "zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset". I tried renaming the entire "zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset" folder. When I did this, I can't pull up the shopping cart at all.

    Please, help! Is it possible to change this folder's name to something less prominent?

    If so, how I do this? Plain English, please as this all is very unfamiliar to me.

    I am still a newbie but one who is enjoying this wonderful cart.

    Thank-you.

    Let's say you rename it catalog

    Now edit the two files:

    /includes/configure.php

    /admin/includes/configure.php

    And change all the settings of:
    zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset

    to read:
    catalog

    NOTE: I would do everything in lower case

    Default Re: help: Changing zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset" folder name

    Thank-you, I changed the names as you suggested.

    /includes/configure.php still pulls up the long name.

    /admin/includes/configure.php resulted in an error and I immediately switched to the orginal configure.php file

    Do I have to reinstall everything? I hope not because I spent most of yesterday inputting my bosses products!

    Any further suggestions?

    Assuming that you have renamed your directory to /catalog ...

    Could you post your files:

    /catalog/includes/configure.php
    /admin/catalog/includes/configure.php

    from the server? Note: do not include your username and password ...

    Default Re: help: Changing zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset" folder name

    This is your old site:
    Get from your server the files:
    /Catalog/zen-cart-v1.3.0.1-full-fileset/includes/configure.php
    /admin/Catalog/zen-cart-v1.3.0.1-full-fileset/configure.php
    And copy them to:

    /catalog/includes/configure.php
    /admin/catalog/includes/configure.php
    Then edit the files and change:
    /Catalog/zen-cart-v1.3.0.1-full-fileset
    To now read:
    /catalog/
    You do not have your configure.php files configured correctly for your site ... I do not know where you got those copies from that you posted, but they are not the ones on your old site at:

    Linda McGrath

    Default Re: help: Changing zen-cart-v1.3.1-full-fileset" folder name

    First ... you should use the lower case for your directory:

    /catalog/shop

    You are using:
    define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/Catalog/shop/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/Catalog/shop//');
    You have a double slash in several files where they should be single, example:
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/Catalog/shop//');
    Same with:
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/Catalog/shop//admin/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/Catalog/shop//');

    Also, you do not appear to have Zen Cart loaded at:
    Check your directory name on your server ...

    Where is the code at? It looks like it is in:
    Linda McGrath

    It's MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to rename the folder before you ftp it to your host. (When I first faced this, I just uninstalled and reinstalled after renaming and re-FTPing the folder.)

    That may not be a good solution for those who already have a lot of time and energy invested, but thought I'd through it out there for those who haven't and hadn't thought about it. :-)

    Thank-you, Ajeh and iron_chick!

    After a bunch of tinkering I was able to repair my long catalogue name.

    I discovered I had TWO copies of Zen installed however, only one was complete. The other I had abandoned previously.

    Moral of the story: Always delete old versions of Zen! LOL

    Thank-you both, again!

    Angie
