Removing the little line & arrow

Don't know what it's called but how do I remove from next to the catagory listings the the line and arrow - example:

Goto ADMIN | CONFIGURATION | LAYOUT SETTINGS click on

Categories Separator between the Category Name and Count and delete -> or replace it with something else.

I have the same issue.. wanting the arrow removed

After going to layout settings and changing the mentioned area the arrow before the category name still shows up but the L shaped figure from category to subcategory isnt

Is there any other way that I am able to remove that little arrow before the category name

Unfortunately that still didnt work

But i did manage to delete it from within the stylesheet_boxes.css document and that removed it.
