Replacing banner

The the FAQ it says:

"There are 2 ways to do this. If you are using an unmodified stock template and have a GIF logo you can name your logo 'logo.gif' and FTP it to the YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/ directory."

Where is the YOUR_TEMPLATE/images directory? I don't need to make a custom template, just want to replace the small zen cart image. All I need to do is FTP the new logo.gif to the correct directory. Which one is it?

where do I change the sentence:
Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?

I thought it was in the index.php file. Where is it. I can't fine this info in the FAQ

I don't recommend doing what you are planning to do .. however .. you would merely replace the logo.gif file in the /images folder.

Also - /includes/languages/english/index.php does have this text

define('TEXT_GREETING_GUEST', 'Welcome <span class="greetUser">Guest!</span> Would you like to <a href="%s">log yourself in</a>?')

If you want to delete the text entirely, leave the single quote marks or you will break the define statement.

The easier way is turn it off in the Admin

Admin> Configuration> Layout Settings> Customer Greeting - Show on Index Page

You really should use the override template system.
