We have some customers that do not complete the check-out process, thinking they have placed their order, later call to check status on their shipment. This wastes alot of our time trying to find the order.
Is there a way to view all customer who have a saved shopping cart, possibly a report? I've searched for a solution but did not find any posts on this specific issue.

There was a "recover carts" mod floating around, which may help.
Have you determined how/why they abandoned their cart?
Is it related to your choice of payment systems? What payment module(s) are you using?.
