    Default Error uploading picture.

    Hi,

I've been getting a new error (version 1.2.6). Everything has been fine but now when I want to add an image to a product and click preview, I get the following:

You don't have permission to access /admin/product.php on this server.

All kinds of strange things are going on with the permissions - often I can't change the permissions from the ftp client so I don't know what's going on. The server had all kind of issues recently with mysql but I doubt that would be a problem. Anyway, anyone got any ideas?

I've got an old image handler (by Samuel Lown) which has also had all kinds of permission problems.

I'm at my wits end with all this!

Has your server changed php or mysql recently?

Ask your hosts if they have switched PHP to run in Safe Mode.

    Hi,

Yep - the server had a huge crash and they had to rebuild mysql. I don't know whether the php settings have changed, though. It was unbelievable - some buffoon with an unpatched vbulletin brought down all of my sites for a whole afternoon. The panicy phone calls came in thick and fast.

If you think that may have something to do with it then I'll have all the more reason to get a didicated server. I've been quoted £139 per month by a UK company called dedipower (who I've heard are good) - anyone know of any cheaper and similarly reliable companies? I'd prefer a server in the UK with cpanel, firewall and patching included.

Cheers for the help - it'll be a real relief to get this sorted.

    Richard
