Firefox display has overlapping text; body/boxes

The display of my new install of Zen has issues.

IE and Safari both look OK, but Firefox shows the body text overlapping the boxes, the boxes have varying widths; kinda a bad hair day with text sticking out everywhere.
I understand the display engines are different, but where does the fault lie?
Is FF not compliant? is it just a style sheet thing?
I searched for Firefox here and came up with little.

Any ideas? or is that just the way it is?

This is on my own Mac server if that matters.

FF is generally very standards compliant (which is why there are very few problems referencing it in this forum), but less forgiving of errors than other browsers. A new install should not have errors or the sort of problems that you describe, but I'm afraid that there's just not enough information here to even start trying to work out what the problem might be.
