I am using it with 1.26d with no problems. see Olympic watches in sig.Originally Posted by adnimas5
It adds 3 files and doesn't overwrite any, so its easy to load & remove if it doesn't work.

HI,
How did you get your "New Products" int he side box to rotate through your stock.. I am sure there is a button somewhere that will do it but not sure where it is...

Mine is modified it so that it validates & starts on a random item each time it appears.
Hi... thanks for that... mine is now scolling the products but the pictures are all squashed... I read the readme file int he zip file and it shows you the height, time ect settings to change which I did but the pictures or sidebox did not alter in size at all.. I hit the refresh button to and nothing changed at all...
Am I missing something ??

NOTE: v1.2.6 has several bugs and issues that you should really try to get upgraded to at least v1.2.7 ... if you are not ready for the leap to v1.3.x ...

I haven't looked at this for a while but your scroller seems to have a fixed image size of 100*80, whereas your stock images are 80 high with floating width. Its the fixed 100 width in the scroller that is squashing your images. You need to make this floating, unfortunately I will be away for 10 days so won't be able to help you further at this time.Originally Posted by brisbanetimeout
Sounds like a great modification. Care to post the details?Mine is modified it so that it validates & starts on a random item each time it appears.
Oh buggar... it would be great if someelse can help me... I think the floating image thing might be spot on... but duont know how to change it... have a look at my webpage and you will see what I mean.... the pictures in the "New Products" window are all squashed and I have editted the heights in the whats_new.php file as stated in the scrolling_whats_new module but it has no change at all and this makes sense about its locked on a fixed hieght as he outlines in above reply... also when you click on a product you will see the picture looks ok in that screen but it has another area where a picture looks like should be but it has the "Picture not avaialable" icon... dont know how to get rid of this either...
Would love some help as this would complete my shopping cart...

Brisbane Dave -
your page takes forever to load
I think what happens with both the 'new products' and 'specials' scrolling sideboxes is that they load all the images that would be displayed on those listing pages - I use scrolling specials and changed display to 6 from 12 and saved a big hit on loading speed. with new products it might have loaded all your new products... the page displayed and kept loading for minutes under high speed. page size is over 686KB - goodbye customers...
you seriously need to do image optimization too (on top of managing how many images display for the scroller) ... look at the image handler contribution - it will improve things dramatically - both look and function.
if you are interested in speed you might want to look on the forum/FAQ about speeding up the site by eliminating category counts and a few other things -
wait, isn't this thread about adsense...
