Others may have done more with this than I know about.
I'm aware of a 3rd-party effort to integrate Gallery2 with Zen Cart for the sake of making gallery items available for purchase.

As to integrating something like Coppermine etc into content pages of Zen Cart, I've never tried it.

Idea or Suggestion Re: Photo Gallery

Ha, i dont believe it, i just uploaded all the files again and its magically working! Nice gallery mod, i'd recommend it. It's simple enough, just shows pictures, no prices which is what im looking for too, sweet.

For some reason, Singapore Gallery isn't on the Zencart contributions pages, but it really should be, just google it...

    Hi
Saw your posts while looking for gallery2 :)

I've done an integration of singapore 9.11, into zencart, for 1.2xx

the version for zencart 1.3.0 is being beta tested, I still have to sort out the gallery user function, but otherwise it works.
(the singapore V10 was changed so much, that I decided to hang in with V9.11 for now - there are a load of filepaths to change in the singapore coding, it takes ages because its run 'remotely', and singapore users don't run it that way, although it should work in principle, it needs lots of mods)

Singapore maybe is not as flexible as some of the other galleries, but it does integrate into the zencart page. I use it for a few photo's at my zencart 1.2.6 cart...

the installed features you see there are slightly more complex than the add on I'm providing for 1.3.0

if you examine my gallery main pictures, the 'picture frame' option should be available in my 1.3.0 add on, the 'diced and sliced' image won't be just now, because its a pain to check out the files it needs for a fault free add on, its complex.

I'm not sure where the singapore thread I started on this forum is just now, but search for singapore, it should come up, it will halt at 1/2.xx -- I will put on there when the download for 1.3.0 is available on hareslade.com

Default Re: Photo Gallery... need zc gallery product type..

Gallery 2 does work with 1.3.0 zencart, I put a modded version of what a guy did for 1.2xx, up in a post on gallery2 forum.

But I wouldn't use it now myself, its just too bloomin time consuming to upgrade again for 1.3.5!. And it wants oodles of memory to install and run.

I did a Singapore gallery integration for zc as well, thats not updated for 1.3.5 yet and the way things are going, it might not get done.. that was a complex add on too..

What I do have in mind more and more, is to use the 'column' layout that Dr Byte updated recently, convert moku's book product or the music one, to make the product listing look like a gallery. The categories would become the galleries and subgalleries.

(so far I have moku's books add-on showing in grid form, the book pics would pass for a gallery, and its dead easy to turn off the right hand column just for the pseudo-gallery :)

This would be a much more easy process (I know!) than integrating 'foreign' galleries by 'include' - galleries which can change their version code, at the same time with zencart also changing rapidly, its a minefield to update.

So... all I need is the product list column display, and some extra css to make it look gallery-ish, and removal of most of the associated product text, so one just sees pictures

--and need to make that new 'gallery' product type for zc.

This removes the awful prob of having to create/insert a 'parallel' product manually for each 'foreign' gallery pic, to match it.

    Excellent plan!
