Quick update on this problem. The email verification error message still persists and is still unsolved I am afraid. I have managed to whittle down potential causes. Initially I thought it was a problem with the Date of Birth fields being changed but having spent all day reworking the code (and trying to use the pull-down menu mod which kept throwing a javascript error no matter what I did), I can say this is not the date of birth chanegs causing the problem.

At this stage I don't think it is a bug in Zencart either. I "suspect" it is a server configuration issue - open basedir problem to be precise. I will be able to verify this sometome tomorrow once I have chatted to the web host.

Two things are bugging me.

1) The DOB issue when trying to use the pulldown menu mod always throws a javascript error and I don't understand why. (Yes I can turn this off but that does not tell me why it does not work. Anyone who wants a copy of the code changes I made is welcome to have a peek.

2) The States Pull down menu is still showing as a form field instead of a pull-down when the account page loads. It should be a pull-down and I cannot find anywhere to make changes so this appears instead of the form field.

Suggestions most welcome. I am running out of ideas.

Update This is not a problem with openbasedir restrictions.

After account creation, the user gets presented with this message but the email is still sent:

assuming they even bother to get past the States Pulldown Menu issue, they then get the above message.

Since nobody has any clue on this and I cannot figure it out I will post a bug report in the Bugs Forum in the hope one of the Zencart Dev Team can respond.

Here is some interesting information regarding the states pulldown menu not showing until after receiving an error and the page refreshing:

1. I have this same problem on my site. I have yet to troubleshoot it, so I do not know if it is intermittent or consistent.

2. I recently created an account on an OSC site and saw the same problem.

Hi Audra

Yes - this is a "legacy" code issue which has been inherited from the old OSC code. Look for the StatesSelector Mod contributed by a_berezin and this will solve your problem.

Let me know if it works for you - it did the trick for me.
