Where to configure the SSL (https://) path

    Hi

For now I will use a shared SSL certificate, but soon I am buying my own.

Either way, where in ZenCart do I put in the fact that I want to use SSL, and what the SSL path is?

I am not using overrides currently by the way in case that helps.

I've searched this forum for "SSL", "SSL Path", "https://" but could not find a posting that explained where to configure this.

I am using Authorize.net by the way (not PayPal), so I know that using SSL is highly recommended.

    Thanks
    Nathalie

    FAQ.

This can be found under your admin/includes/configure.php and includes/configure.php file.

Re: Where to configure the SSL (https://) path

Thanks for the help with the files. I have a follow-up question. I just got my SSL certificate, and supposedly my host installed it. The https site is loading fine. But, when I went to look for the ZC files mentioned to enable the SSL, I ran into some questions. I recently installed 1.3, and I don't have a configure.php file in either the includes/ folder or the admin/includes folder. The only configure.php file I have is located in the Zen Cart root directory. Then I also have a dist-configure.php file in the admin/includes folder. I modified both of these files as directed, but the SSL still is not enabled. Any suggestions? Should I copy my configure.php file to the locations mentioned? Is there anything I need to do in the admin section to "turn it on"? I'm really new to all of this - just learning as I go - so thanks in advance for your patience!

    Hi buzz,
    If you dont have
    includes/configure.php and
admin/includes/configure.php then you have a non stock version of zen cart.

where did you get it and how did you install it?

Ha! Well, I should have said that my lovely husband did the download and installation, but he did it from the ZenCart site... I've been working with the files since then and I've installed a few of the mods - ImageHandler 2.0 and the backup mod. But, I'm very green when it comes to all of this, so maybe I messed something up when working on it? I haven't intentionally modified the file structure, but maybe I did something accidentally... now feeling very foolish! Any suggestions? Like I said, my configure.php file is in the Zen-cart root... Everything else seems to be working fine - web site looks fine and the admin section working without any difficulty. This SSL issue is the first real problem I've had.

figured this out... the files were all located correctly on the ftp site, but not on my computer - not sure how this happened! Anyway, made the changes to the files in the correct locations (!) and now the SSL is enabled. Sorry to bother with a silly question!
