Hey Zenners, first step is to ask your Fastway office for a soft-copy (preferrably in Excel format) of the transshipment schedule for your area. Once you have that you will see what is required to reformat the data into the format of the original SQL upload files.

From my experience with both Sydney and Newcastle, the transshipment schedule for both areas are in a very different format. No doubt others will be similarly different.

    Cheers

Just wondering if anyone has managed to adjust the code of the Fastway Module so that it checks the postcode AND the suburb/town ? I would think that this would be essential with so many suburbs (with differing rates) using the same postcode. Any ideas?

I suspect that would create other less desirable problems as suburbs are frequently written differently e.g., Sth X, X South, St, St., Saint, etc. Just my 2cents. I know I've had to make changes to some SQL entries to get consistency.

Thats true, GAM in a small amount of cases, but I personally found that checking by postcode only was just too unreliable. Take NSW postcode 2480 for example(one of many...), when the db is queried by postcode only it takes the first one (alphabetically) off the list. If i wanted a parcel sent to Bexhill (which should be $10) it chooses Back Creek instead ($35 !). The Error message that people would get for a misspelt name could be changed to better inform them of their problem and asking them to email you so that it could be sorted out permanently.

Actually an error message doesn't appear if you change the Fastway script to check the 'city' details as well. What happens is that the customer just doesn't get Fastway as a shipping choice. The temporary workaround for me was this..

1.Make sure you have another shipping option chosen to use.(in my case it was a local pick-up)

    2. Change the text in the includes/languages/english/checkout_shipping.php to say something like the following (about line22)...."TEXT_ENTER_SHIPPING_INFORMATION', 'This is either <br>1.Your prefered shipping method by choice,or<br>2.Your City name was typed incorrectly in your Shipping Details.<br>Please email us if youre unsure about the best way to spell your City to complete Checkout.');

    Hi there,

I have a list of ex-Brisbane sql statements (Sept 2008). If anyone knows where or how I can upload them for everyone to use can you please let me know?

    Cheers

    hello all,

i have just installed this module (v1.0.1) and have two minor problems.

    1) handling charges do not seem to take effect.
    2) the shipping estimator seems to (only occasionally), return $0.00 when i know it shouldn't. refreshing the popup screen then seems to update the price.

    any ideas?

otherwise seems to work fine, albeit i cannot see any parcel splitting (instead we simply entered appropriate prices for parcels over 25kg to mimic multiple parcels)

    cheers

    Hi Andy,

I've been having the same problem, with the handling charge not working. Have you had any luck fixing it?

    Regards,

    Mike.
