Would you like to share with us the inadequacies of the fine crew?

previous cart developer took more than 3 months to work on my cart but didn't complete everything we agreed on before the project started.
all mods were made directly to the corefiles as he didn't bother to use the template overiding system.

anyway, i wouldn't have known what he did to my cart if my web developer had not alerted me. basically my web developer had to redo all the mods done by the cart developer. the current cart layout has been redone by my web developer and i think he did a very good job considering he had not prior experience with Zen Cart. the cart looks so much better now than the mess created by the previous cart developer.

Poor you. At least it sounds like you've hooked up with somebody better now.

Funny Insect - Can we just clarify what you are saying ... are you saying that a previous web developer had hard coded the number of products displaying in a row in your specific Zen Cart, or are you suggesting that there might be a bug in Zen Cart generally?

no. it wasn't a bug. it's something the previous cart developer did to the file which caused the problem.
it's my web developer who managed to locate the source of the problem.

My bad, I thought you were dissing our guys. Wondered why the suggestions weren't working as well.

For those in this predicament in the future, get a copy of WinMerge and check what that "previous developer" did that was not in the core. Could save hours of headache.
