Unique Part Number

Hey Guys,
I created a shopping cart and it will eventually have a LOT of products. Before I explain my problem, let me list a sample product set up:

Part #: 631-1 Product name: Cast Iron Electrode Size: 1/8
Part #: 631-2 Product name: Cast Iron Electrode Size: 1/16
Part #: 631-3 Product name: Cast Iron Electrode Size: 1/32

So i set up Cast iron as a product with the attributes 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32. Now each attribute has a unique part number which is not necessary for the customer to shop but necessary for the owners to locate by part Number and ship the product.

I am open to ideas as to how to approach this. The customer should be able to see the Part number though but not necessarily "search by or shop by" it. It should update as they change the Attribute to the respective Part Number.

Not sure if this is possible. I would appreciate any ideas, suggestion. Here is a link to the shop,

What you seek is , unfortunately, not a feature currently supported by ZenCart.
If you want to research this subject, search for priced by attribute or stock.
if you do not have many variations, you might investigate the cross sell contribution in the downloads section.

Why can't you just put the ID number in the attribute name? I know the customer will see it but you can make it look decent, like:

1/8 (model#631-1)

or something like that.

were u able to resolve this? coz i'm havign a similar problem with a shop i'm trying to setup tat sells calling cards.
