Merchants Account Set UP

I just set up my zen cart and have implemented the pay pal IPN, but I now want to move to get a real merchants account. I have already set up my SSL connection so please can someone tell me what steps are needed to fully integrate the merchants account. I appreciate all your help.[

I read the online reviews for card services international and all of them are negative except for the ones that kind of look like their own advertisments. Could anyone please recommend me any merchants account provider that is smoothly compatible with the zen cart and is fairly good.
